Pre-filter
The first stage of filtration captures larger particles present in the air, such as dust, hair, pet hair, and fabric fibers. The pre-filter protects the other filtration layers from clogging quickly and extends their lifespan. In most Winix models, it is washable and easy to maintain.
Activated Carbon Filter
Activated carbon effectively absorbs odors and gaseous pollutants. It helps eliminate odors from cooking, pets, cigarette smoke, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can be released from furniture, cleaning products, or building materials. The result is fresher and more pleasant air in the room.
True HEPA Filter
The highly efficient True HEPA filter captures up to 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. It effectively removes fine dust, pollen, bacteria, viruses, mold spores, smoke particles, and pet allergens. This filtration is particularly suitable for people with allergies, asthma, and those sensitive to air pollution.
PlasmaWave® Technology
The patented PlasmaWave® technology generates positive and negative ions that react with water vapor molecules in the air to create hydroxyl radicals. These then help break down odors, allergens, chemical fumes, and other pollutants directly at the molecular level. Unlike some conventional ionization technologies, PlasmaWave® does not produce harmful levels of ozone and is safe for everyday use.
